Majesty & Elize on Embracing and Making Positive Change

“Our overall goal is to give off and be an example of positive energy. We are trying to be the change that what we would like to see and be an example of it.” – Majesty

Today, Majesty & Elize spend most of their time giving back to others through their expertise in real estate. Majesty is a serial entrepreneur and has been operating small businesses since he was 12, cutting grass, babysitting, and seeking out opportunities to create value and systems that others can benefit from. Majesty had his foot in the door with many other industries as well, including owning a used-car dealership, but was seeking an industry that he truly felt passionate about. He eventually found real estate and fell in love with the power and impact that the industry could truly have on everyone. Majesty explains how almost every business begins with real estate, whether it be a company’s office for its employees or a warehouse for manufacturing, etc. Yet the other factor about real estate that Majesty loves is that it creates a foundation to provide opportunities to have win-win situations for all parties involved. From the attorneys to the agents to the tech people to the construction crew, real estate provides a mutual benefit for many groups of people. In recent months, Majesty & Elize have used their real estate background to start their nonprofit, PUSH Nation, which focuses on finding affordable housing and living for people that are displaced and struggling financially. Majesty explains their real motivation throughout all that they do. He says, “Our overall goal is to give off and be an example of positive energy. We are trying to be the change that what we would like to see and be an example of it.”

Before entering the real estate business and starting a nonprofit with his wife and business partner, Elize, Majesty owned a used-car dealership. This is where he developed his vast knowledge and skills regarding sales, financing, and the necessary steps to successfully execute transactions that perfectly suit customers’ needs. Even though he was learning a lot, Majesty decided he was not interested in continuing to own this dealership and sell cars in the long term. This was mostly because he wasn’t passionate about the product he was dedicating his career to selling; cars are a product that needs to be sold at a consistently fast rate because they diminish in value so quickly, which lessens the ability to perfectly suit a buyer. While weighing his different options, a friend suggested that Majesty enter into real estate and it seemed like the perfect fit given his previous sales background. With little capital, Majesty & Elize began to commit their time every day to help investors find distressed properties to work with. Many of the investors did not have the infrastructure or time to find these properties on their own, so for Majesty & Elize, this was a great way to break into the industry. Eventually, once it made sense to do so, they were able to transition over to becoming investors themselves.

“First, know when you need help and don’t be afraid to ask for it. Second, don’t be afraid to go into a period of rebuilding.” – Majesty

Often in life, people find themselves in a situation or position that they simply aren’t happy with. Majesty shares some simple steps that he believes can get a person started onto a path of development and on track to reach their goals. He explains, “We need to learn more about ourselves and what caused us to go off track. We’re all human. We all make mistakes, but we also have to be aware of ourselves and our actions.” At many stages in life, people have the capability to build up a work ethic and discipline to guide them to a positive trajectory. One of Majesty’s favorite quotes displays this idea perfectly. Navy Seal Admiral William H. McRaven says, “If you wanna change the world, start off by making your bed.”  If a person can complete the simplest of tasks, then it shows them that they can accomplish task after task the rest of the day. This first task becomes an example and encouragement for the next tasks. Over time, this philosophy can transform to be a part of the way people live their lives, as Majesty says, “you become an example for the next person to follow.”

On top of self-awareness and self-discipline, it also may take the help of friends, family, colleagues, and even strangers to get to your desired destination. Majesty talks about how important it is to trust the people around you for support and advice when it is needed. He says, “First, know when you need help and don’t be afraid to ask for it. Second, don’t be afraid to go into a period of rebuilding.” By taking note of personal as well as other people’s successes, mistakes, and failures throughout life, it allows us to internalize and recall upon these experiences to navigate different circumstances in the future. This sense of communal growth is the root of Majesty’s emphasis on the idea of “Making sure you’re showing positive energy because it’s contagious.”

“This is the most uncertain that it’s been for a lot of us in our entire lifetimes.” – Majesty

Since there is a large amount of turmoil and change brewing in the world right now, Majesty believes that now more than ever is an important time to take action. He explains, “Many people are afraid to take action right now or [they] are in a mode of inaction or [they] are even reversing their previous actions, but taking action in any form is, especially on something that you are passionate about, is the best way to bring about change.” With much of the energy around the world right now being focused on what is going wrong in society and what needs to be changed, it is easy to let it all become very overwhelming. Majesty says, as many of us can probably agree, “This is the most uncertain that it’s been for a lot of us in our entire lifetimes.” Despite this focus on uncertainty and the long journey toward progress ahead, Majesty shares how important it is to still be aware of all the positive events and positive change happening as well as noticing everything that we can still be grateful for.

“Change is coming, and change is a beautiful thing… Right now, it is important to have faith in yourself, YOU HAVE TO HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF.” – Majesty

Majesty is a big proponent of encouraging people to adapt and learn as society changes and new technology arises, instead of shying away, especially in these uncertain times. “It’s a matter of us finding our place in it and being fluid and open to change, even in technology, so that we can benefit from it and not have it use us.” This goes back to what we discussed earlier in regards to being open and aware of your situation and using the tools in place to push you further. As an example, Majesty spoke about attending his cousin’s wedding, his first virtual wedding, through Zoom, and how all platforms and old school ways are being updated with tech advancements. “Change is coming, and change is a beautiful thing… Right now, it is important to have faith in yourself, YOU HAVE TO HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF.” It is important to be able to know how to maneuver in a changing world so that we can capitalize on the countless opportunities that may arise.
